I’m Being Spammed to Death!

Over the last several days I have received 40 or more comments, 35 of them were spam! Spammers ruin everything.

Install Bad Behavior and/or Spam Karma. Problem solved.

Its from John C Dvorak of PC Magazine, I don’t know if it works but the theory behind it makes sense

I use Spam Karma and it catches practically everything…

The beauty of Bad Behavior is that it blocks spambots from accessing your site. Spam Karma catches pretty much all spam, but I had to turn down the settings a bit in order to avoid fale positives.

thank goodness my site’s not circulated enough for that to be an issue!
but seriously, when you switch from blogger etc. to your own domain.. and getting on the wordpress setup, it seems people get a lot more spam too.

You can also try CAPTCHA (http://www.captcha.net/), which is what dasBlog.net uses (the blogging software I use).
