2006 401(k) Contribution Limits
By JLP | January 16, 2006
The maximum dollar contribution into 401(k) plans for 2006 is $15,000. Those over 50 can contribute another $5,000. These amounts DO NOT include employer matches, however you can lose an employer match if you max out your contributions too early in the year. Therefore, it is important to plan your contributions to make sure that you will not miss out on your match.
Of course individual limits are also subject to each individual company’s 401(k) plan so be sure and check with your human resources department.
