John Bogle
By JLP | January 27, 2006
There’s a pretty good article by By Andrew Cassel at the Philadelphia Inquirer on John Bogle. I have always liked John Bogle. He seems to be an honest person and someone we can admire.
I have seen The Bogleheads’ Guide in the bookstores but have not yet had a chance to read it. I plan on ordering it this weekend. I don’t think it is a very long book so it shouldn’t take long to read. Anyway, once I have read it, I will let everyone know what I think of it.
I’m pretty sure the inspiration for the Bogleheads book came from the Vanguard Diehards forum on the Morningstar website since the authors post comments on the forum. If you have never checked it out before, the Vanguard Diehards is a pretty cool place. Also, someone put together a Guide to the Vanguard Diehards.

I look forward to the review. I saw the book in Barnes but I’m so backlogged on books. I’m amazed at the reading clip you maintain with work, blog, and family!

My take on Bogle is the same as yours. I love VG index funds as a result.

Hi JLP:
Indeed the inspiration for The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing did come from the Morningstar.com Vanguard Diehards web site.
Through our work on the forum, we’ve become friends with Jack Bogle, a true American icon. In fact, Jack wrote the foreword
to our book and agreed to let the publisher create the Bogle Bobblehead that appears on the cover.
Hope you enjoy our book!
Best regards
