Update on my Daughter

By JLP | February 11, 2006

I’m a little tired, so if this doesn’t read well, don’t hold it against me.

We took our daughter to the doctor yesterday and brought her back home. Her fever never really subsided so my wife called the doctor to report it and they decided to get her into the hospital. We ended up getting her to the hospital at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. They did a test to check for meningitis which came back negative (she doesn’t have meningitis). They hooked her up to an IV and are giving her antibiotics. I stayed with the boys last night and my wife stayed at the hospital.

I ask that you consider praying for three things:

1. Her fever really isn’t going down much. It is understandable that if she has something like a virus that her fever may be high for a while. Please pray that her fever goes down

2. It doesn’t seem like the doctors know what is wrong with her. This is troubling to me. I mean my daughter’s life is in this guy’s hands and yet he looks confused. Please pray that God will give him the knowledge to know what to do.

3. Simply pray for her healing.

I won’t be blogging today as I have too much other stuff to do.

JLP, I know how you’re feeling. My son (less than 2 years old) goes in for surgery on Friday. It’s a quick 25 minute outpatient thing, but it scares the you-know-what out of me. I pray all ends well with your daughter. Keep us posted.

May the Lord give the physicians the wisdom and knowledge that He raised up to treat the infirm, may He heal your daughter, and bring comfort to you and your family.

I hope your daughter turns out to be just fine. My wife and I are due in May with our first child (probably last child because of wife’s age).
