What I’m Reading to My Boys
By JLP | February 28, 2006
While at the local bookstore a while back, I picked up and started reading Joel Greenblatt’s The Little Book That Beats the Market. Although I’ve expressed reservations about the book, I have to say that I like the way it is written. In fact, I’m currently reading it to my 10-year old and 9-year old boys.
The jury is still out as to whether or not they will enjoy it or get anything out of it. I figure if I don’t try, I’ll never know. No, I’m not trying to force them into becoming financial planners or personal finance bloggers. I don’t care what they choose to do in life as long as it is legal. However, no matter what they choose to do, they will need to understand personal finance and investing and I know enough to know that I can’t count on the school system to teach them anything.
We just finished Chapter 1 tonight. I’ll keep you updated on our progress.
