Taylor Larimore, one of the three authors of The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing, has put together a list of investing books that he recommends to people wanting to learn how to invest their money. It’s a pretty good list.

  1. That is a LONG list. Whooee! Care to winnow it down for us? Any on those list that you would suggest to the ABSOLUTE beginner?

  2. If you are an absolute beginner, then I don’t think you could go wrong with Jane Bryant Quinn’s newest book Smart and Simple Financial Strategies for Busy People. It is very simple and easy to understand and will give you a solid footing for moving on to more detailed books.

  3. I think it’s a great list.
The Coffee House Investor by William Schultheis is a wonderful fast read.
    I just bought:
The Four Pillars of Investing by William Bernstein, Ph.D. M.D.
A Random Walk Down Wall Street by Burton Malkiel
The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham & Jason Zweig is certainly a classic.
