Friday Roundup

I have been really self-absorbed the last week or so due to my “legal” problems. However, things are getting better now and I wanted to post another roundup with some articles from the MoneyBlogNetwork and beyond.

We start off with MBH talking about debt reduction as a goal. Personally, I think getting out of consumer debt (credit cards, car loans, etc.) should be on everyone’s goals list.

FMF found a list of 15 questions that people should ask their discount brokers. It’s a great list.

Jim believes (and I do too) that people should look at student loan debt as an investment.

For Flexo, the cat is outta the bag! (read the last sentence of the post to find out why). Nice site redesign, btw!

Nickel has been blogging a lot about his moving experience. The awesome thing about blogging is that we can all hopefully learn from each other’s experiences.

Outside the MBN:

MMF poses an interesting question: Can or should PF Bloggers start an investment club? Interesting idea.

Her (no, there’s nothing wrong with my grammar!) over at Make Love, Not Debt talks about how Her and Him address their financial issues. I hope it never gets so heated that they throw cats at each other (read the post to find out what I’m talking about)!

My little sister, Single Mom has some good advice on buying a car. I would HATE to be the salesman trying to sell her a car!

While we are talking about cars, my friend Ramit over at IWillTeachYoutobeRich recently posted about why he bought a NEW car. Ramit cracks me up!

That’s enough for now. There’s a lot more excellent posts out there but you will have to find them on your own. Have fun reading!

  1. Another issue to keep in mind when buying cars — reputation of the manufacturer and the model. I think some American cars get an undeserved bad rap when it comes to quality, but there are some stinkers from every country and practically every manufacturer.
