Single Mom Telling it Like it is!

By JLP | April 20, 2006

Here’s an example of SingleMom telling it like it is. For some of you her medicine might be hard to swallow.

One thing that really impresses me about the personal finance blog community is the fact that every blogger (with the exception of one blog that I can think of) has taken responsibility for their finances. Sure, some had better starts than others. Some are still paying down their debts. However, one thing they all have in common is that they are DOING SOMETHING.

Remember, financial success begins with a decision followed by action.

Where have we gone astray? Until 30 years ago, what this lady is talking about was common sense. [and thus the question that pisses people off:] How do we take our country back? We are collectively paying for many less-then-responsible folks out there, and it ain’t getting any better.

Vladimir, you’ve got it right. What the heck happened? Fortunately for me, I’m the product of two thrifty parents who manage their money well. I shudder to think of how I might have turned out had they been spendthrifts.

JLP, you’ve hit it right on the head with regard to financial success. I would extend that to read, “All success begins with a decision followed by action.”

What brought that on from Single Ma? Seems like an off-the-wall rant. Plus I found her post a little “preachy”.

Hmm, I wonder who the irresponsible blogger is!
