Tools for the Do-It-Yourself Financial Planning Crowd

Here’s an interesting article by Meg Richards in the ContraCost Times detailing the different financial planning and investment tools available at the various no-load mutual fund companies. It is interesting to me that companies like Vanguard and T. Rowe Price are moving into the advisory business by offering consultations for a fee (or “free” if you have a big enough account with them). Is this a good move? Do you think someone who works for Vanguard is going to recommend a non-Vanguard mutual fund? Hmmm…
