$95,000,000 For This?

By JLP | May 4, 2006

I’m sorry but Picasso is WAY overrated. A person would have to be nuts to pay $95 million for this. It’s the second highest price ever paid for a painting at auction. Some people simply have too much money!

When Picasso died in 1973, he left no will and his death duties (estate taxes) were paid with paintings from his personal collection.

If I had several hundred million dollars sitting around I can not imagine spending $95 million on a painting. I think buying an island or blowing it on a small country might be more worthwhile. Besides how many people will get a chance to see the actual painting?
