Weekly Roundup

By JLP | May 5, 2006

Yep, it’s Friday again. That means it’s time for another Weekly Roundup.

Since it is Friday, I thought I would help you wind down by pointing you to Jim’s blog for some instruction on Brewing Your Own Beer. I am a beer fan. I sometimes stand for minutes in front of the beer case at Kroger trying to figure out what beer to try. I have never tried to brew my own. Maybe I will someday.

FMF interviewed author of The Big Money, Frederick Kobrick. I just finished up that book today and hope to post my review later today.

Flexo talked about getting better sleep. I need help with this one. My problem is more my terrible habits than it is about actually sleeping good. I need to quit staying up so late.

Problems with Feedburner? Nickel thinks so.

MBH wants to know what kind of free software do you use?

One last thing, I know I’m kind of late with this one, but I wanted to tell you about the “scandal” over at MakeLove,NotDebt. Apparently, “Her” posted about how her mom and dad weren’t going to give them $10,000 to go towards their wedding, which led to over 90 comments (most of which were quite critical of “Her.”). “Him” followed up with a post of his own and I thought it was nice to see how he stood by her side. Then, “Her” followed up with another post, explaining her first post.

In my opinion, the point of all this is: DON’T COUNT ON MONEY FROM OTHER PEOPLE! That, and also: GET MARRIED CHEAP! People get so caught up in weddings and then end up getting divorced anyway. What’s the point? The amount of money spent on the wedding does not equate to a successful marriage. If you respect marriage enough to get married, then it shouldn’t matter WHERE or HOW you get married. Okay, I’m done preaching. Have a great weekend everyone!
