For example lets say little Johnny wants to buy the hot new video game and it costs $50 bucks. Make him do chores and save his allowence untill he has $100 dollars. If he still wants the game he can buy it but the extra $50 goes into a savings account. Chances are he won't even want the game anymore and will just put the whole $100 in.
