AstroWorld Site is Expected to Sell for $77 Million!
By JLP | May 10, 2006
Wow! A lot of you may not be familiar with AstroWorld. It was a Six Flags Park in Houston. I say “was” because they shut it down last year after 37 years in business. I was sad to see the park go. However, the last time we took our kids there a few years ago, I noticed that the park was in pretty bad shape. It looked like they had just given up on maintaining the grounds and the buildings.
It turns out that the property is in a pretty expensive part of Houston (located just south of Reliant Park) and Six Flags decided to sell the property instead of trying to keep the park open. According to this article in the Houston Chronicle, the 104 acre property has been sold for $77 million. That’s $740,385 per acre.

Heh. When I first read the headline I thought you were talking about a web site, not a physical site.
