Coffehouse Investor Book Giveaway Update

By JLP | May 18, 2006

FYI, if you haven’t signed up for The Coffeehouse Investor Book Giveaway hosted by AllFinancialMatters, you might want to do so. I will randomly select a winner tomorrow morning.

While we are on the topic of The Coffeehouse Investor, I want to point you to The CoffeeHouseInvestor website. There’s a lot of interesting stuff there. While cruising around there, I found a link to Pacific Asset Management, which is the firm that Bill Schultheis works for.

What I found really interesting is the company’s fees. Their top fee is 1% of assets under managment up to $500,000 (plus transactions costs and fund fees). This kind of shocked me because throughout the book he talks about fees and how you should cut your fees as much as possible. So, although you can do the indexing strategy by yourself, if you decide to pay soemone to do it for you, be prepared to pay for it. Keep in mind that his company does more than just manage index funds. All things considered, it probably isn’t that bad of a deal.
