Ever Tasted Tear Gas?
By JLP | May 30, 2006
This is a bit off-topic for a personal finance blog, but I wanted to share this story with you from my friend Vlad, who is down in Chile on business.

Actually, they make everyone who goes into the Army taste tear gas. You put on your gas mask, go into a chamber full of tear gas smoke, hang out for a while, then they make you take it off and recite stuff. I didn’t get a single breath before I started gagging, choking, and having my eyes run tears and snot run out of my nose. I guess there are some people who are just naturally resistant to it-there was one DI there who could stand in it and yell at folks with no mask on…
And just FYI-the Army isn’t just being mean. After that experience I truly BELEIVED that my gas mask worked. (and that was the point)
