Loan Balance Calculator

By JLP | June 14, 2006

Here’s a useful calculator I created for helping you compute the remaining balance on a loan. This calculator, The Remaining Loan Balance Calculator, will give you an ESTIMATE of the balance remaining on a loan. The reason I stress “estimate” is that the calculator has to assume that the loan payments are made on a timely basis as the calculator cannot compute inconsistency. This calculator ties in to this post I did last night.

Can you change the interest rate field to allow (at least) three decimal places before rounding? If my interest rate is 5.125%, the calculator is rounding it to 5.13%, which throws off the results a bit. Thanks.
