Oprah’s Great American Debt Diet Repeats All This Week
By JLP | July 10, 2006
Just a head’s up to let you know that Oprah is airing her 5-Part Great American Debt Diet series this week. I blogged about this back when the first two shows aired in February (read them here and here).
I have to say that it is really hard to feel sorry for these people because they ALL seem to know what they are doing. One lady just throws away her bills instead of opening them. I mean, how stupid can you get ridiculous is that?

I was just that stupid. I had stacks of unopened bills. I did not open then because I figured I knew what they were for anyway. You live and learn. I have learned. I open everything with my name on it these days.

Maybe she has a ‘no news is good news’ policy when it comes to bills. That really is stupid.
Talk about burying your head in the sand, this is more like burying your head in concrete.

Sorry about the typo, “then” should be “them.”

I have no money to pay my bills let alone live on. I live on S.S.I. and only have enough to pay my rent and light bill. I’ve recently taken tests to go back to work with my disabilities and am waiting for a response from that. I am seriously depressed because I have a grandson whom I’ve never been able to buy for and he is 10 now. I would love for someone to help me figure out a budget. I’ve asked my siblings numerous times to no avail. I’m game at this point in my life to do anything I can to succeed or even be a productive citizen. I’ve always watched Oprah and feel she is a tremendous God fearing woman whom has proven anyone can succeed if they try. Thank-you for taking the time to read. Sincerely, Teresa P.S. I am 46 years old.

no one on this entire week’s show referred to huge monthly issues;
health insurance, disability, life, house & car insurance and long term health care….so, what was the point of working out a pie chart that completely eliminated all these huge outlay of bills..????
