Our Vacation Came in Under Budget!
By JLP | July 25, 2006
Well, our trip came in under budget! We had budgeted $1,465 for our family vacation. After updating our trip budget spreadsheet, we found out that we came in under budget to the tune of $124! That’s good news. Here’s what our budget looked like:
The only area that we didn’t consider when we set up our budget was the “Misc.” category. Some of that expense was due to me forgetting my swimming trunks and flip flops. I don’t remember what the rest of the money was spent on.
Granted, we didn’t take a real luxurious trip or anything. We just went to see my family and while there, we all went to Kansas City for a day and stayed in a hotel. I have a feeling that when we go to Disney World, we’ll have to fork over a lot more than $1,300!

I understand you very well! Always the budget you plan at home it’s different from the one you really need for a travel … in most of the cases , the second is double!

I’ve always heard as a rule of thumb when travelling: bring half the clothes you think you’ll need, and twice the cash!
Of course in this case apparently you didn’t have enough clothes, and had more cash than you needed
