That is usually the purpose of those types of books. I like reading books that make me analyze my life and myself. My wife reads books for entertainment, but I read books for educational value. I don't think it's a bad thing that you are competitive, but you just have to be a good sport about it :)

The Scarcity Mentality is a hard one to cover come. One of the things I have found that really helps me with my scarcity mentality is giving and looking outside myself. It can be hard - especially if money is tight, but in the end I feel better about it.

If you really want to get rid of the Scarcity Mentality, read "God Wants You To Be Rich" by Paul Zane Pilzer. It examines the effect of the belief in scarcity on our economic system, and the rather surprising effects of technological development on scarcity.

It's a much better read than I'm making it sound, BTW. ;)

Well, it takes a big person to admit it in public. You didn't have to tell any of us that.

It's difficult enough to recognize and acknowledge our shortcomings to ourselves, let alone in public. None of us are perfect but I have always believed that those who are willing to examine themselves critically and are open to change will be much better from the experience. Life is a journey and you're on the right path (Proverbs 4:18-19). Keep up the good work!
