I’ve Got a Friend Going to Russia
By JLP | October 3, 2006
I don’t normally post stuff like this. In fact, this is the first time I have EVER posted anything like this. This is my attempt at trying to help a friend.
I have a friend who is taking a mission trip to Russia. I respect people who do this kind of stuff because it is something I really have no interest in doing. I like the United States! Anyway, at my suggestion, she added a PayPal donation button to her trip blog and I wanted to mention it to you in case you would like to make a small donation to help defer the costs of the trip. No matter what your religion, you have to respect a person who is giving of their time to help those who are less fortunate.

If I weren’t currently supporting a friend on a three-year stint in Nicaragua, I’d be happy to help. But she has my good wishes.
And also, I really hope that you reconsider travelling abroad at some point. Spending time in another culture is one of the best things I think anyone can do for their personal growth, especially if it is an aid-focused trip like your friend’s.
