Bogleheads’ October Project – Chapters 10 & 11
By JLP | October 13, 2006
Today is Day 10 in our quest to review the The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing as part of the Bogleheads’ October Project.
Tax blogger, Kay Bell, has done a WONDERFUL job reviewing Chapters 10 & 11, which deal with the topic of taxes (big surprise there, huh?). If there’s ever a topic that can ruin a person’s investment plans, it’s taxes! Understanding taxes and how they impact your portfolio is one of the keys to investment success. That said, you will want to read Kay’s review.
That completes the second week of our reviews. We will continue our reviews on Monday when Tim at MyMoneyForest tackles diversification.

One learning over the years has been to invest for return first and tax savings second. Tax savings are important, sure, but returns even more so. If I think a stock is at an unattainable high, I’ll sell even with the tax hit.
