All Dressed Up With No Place to Go
By JLP | December 7, 2006
It’s funny…
Today I had planned to get a lot of stuff done that required some considerable driving. I got up this morning, took a shower, got dressed, woke up the kids, fed my daughter, got her dressed, brushed her hair and teeth, put her coat on, loaded her in the car, opened my door, then I figured out I didn’t have my keys. I was in the house looking for my keys when I remembered that my wife drove my car last night. So, I called her and asked her if she knew where my keys were.
As the police would say…
She had them on her person!
DANGIT! JLP is not a happy camper. I’m stuck at home!
What’s ironic about the whole deal is that I’m notorious for not planning out my day like I should. However, last night I wrote out my plan for the day. LOL!
In a round about way this whole thing is my fault because I lost my other key.

I’m definitely laughing with you – right? This is why all vehicles have 2 sets of keys in my house. Hubby has one for all vehicles and we all have one for our respective cars.
shhhh – plus I have a secret 3rd set hidden in my office.
The only car this doesn’t work for is daughters Cougar. She bought it used and didn’t ask for a second set at the time. These keys are coded and can only be purchased from the manufacturer at high cost. Ouch. So, hopefully she doesn’t lose them.

Been there done that JLP…So we now have at least a spare set of keys for each car at home. Just make sure you put them back after you use them;-)

Well if it makes you feel better, I’m stuck at home today too, though it wasn’t my wife taking the keys this time. I woke up to about 8 inches of snow on the ground and near blizzard like conditions (not even able to see the end of my driveway). I was supposed to do an on-site consulting visit today that was about 150 miles away.
Well, the whole area is under a winter storm warning and the snow is not set to let up until tomorrow. So, here I sit.
