5 Things You Probably Don’t Knoweth About Me

By JLP | January 26, 2007

I actually took a stab at this post way back when Amanda tagged me but gave up because I couldn’t think of anything that people don’t know about me that I want people to know about me. Make sense? Anyway, I’ll take another stab at it since Single Ma basically yelled at me in an email. Yeah, she can yell in emails.

Okay, here we go:

1. I have a sense of humor. I ABSOLUTELY love to make people laugh. It makes me feel important for some reason.

2. I LOVE coffee. Everyday that first cup of coffee makes my day! It’s funny how I can drink the same thing every day and it still tastes good to me every day.

3. I’m VERY competitive. I don’t like this about myself. I have a hard time rejoicing in other people’s successes. Oh well, we all have problems.

4. I have lived in Texas for nearly 15 years! I was born and raised in Kansas, met my wife in September 1991, and moved to Texas in June of 1992. Been here ever since.

5. When I was a kid, I always wanted to be an architect. I was damn good at drawing and designing houses. However, the math part freaked me out and I decided financial math was much easier. Besides, I didn’t think architects made enough money unless they lived in the big city.

It is strange how similar we are based on some of those five things you mentioned. Numbers one through 3 are exactly me. I can’t comment on 4 though, never lived out there.

What is even more odd is number 5. I too wanted to become an architect. And on top of that I actually went to college and got my undergraduate degree in architecture, landscape architecture specifically. I loved to draw and design, still do. After college I realized without living in a big city or working for a large firm the salary was only about what a manager at McDonalds made. So I ended up continuing education in business and finance and became a financial planner.

    Strange how things turn out!

You make me out to be so evil. :-)

And I thought your “other” list was more interesting! LOL

If you have a sense of humor, what is your favorite comedy?

For me I’d have to say it is a tie between Caddyshack and Super Troopers

    My favorite movies?

    In no particular order:

Dumb & Dumber – just pure stupid humor. Funny stuff.

All Leslie Nielson movies – The guy is freakin’ hilarious!

    Something About Mary

Nothing to Lose – “You must be really fast!”

Same with me and coffee. Sometimes when I go to bed I just can’t wait to get up and brew that first pot.

Personally I prefer UHF, although Dumb & Dumber was pretty good.

JLP, you got some movies in my top 5 list. My top movie is definitely Dumb and Dumber. It’s just raw, stupid comedy.

Oh, and my wife absolutely hates the movie with a passion.
