Here’s Nine Reasons as to Why I Blog
By JLP | February 8, 2007
Here’s why I blog:
1. It’s fun. If I didn’t enjoy it, I wouldn’t be doing it.
2. It’s an awesome way to communicate. Finding things across the internet and being able to add commentary along with links is an incredible way to communicate.
3. I enjoy getting comments. Comments are what make a blog work. Without comments all you have is another website. I’m fortunate to have great commenters.
4. I thoroughly enjoy trying to take something that’s complex and break it down so that nearly everyone can understand it. I’m not always successful but I give it my best shot.
5. It’s an opportunity to help someone. If I can help just one person, then I figure AllFinancialMatters has been a success.
6. It’s a chance for me to rant. I try to limit my ranting because I think ranting gives my blog a negative feel. However, there are times when something just irks me and I feel like I have to get it out.
7. It’s an opportunity to earn some side-income. No, it’s not a lot yet. However, I can see a lot of potential. I’m already earning a lot more than I ever thought was possible. Hopefully it’s just the beginning.
8. I get to “meet” lots of people. In my 2 1/2 years of blogging, I have made lots of new friends. It’s pretty cool to think that I could go to almost any large city in the U. S. and know at least one person.
9. I enjoy watching my blog’s readership grow. I remember the first time I had 100 hits in a day. Now I’m getting 15 - 20 times that! That’s not to say that I don’t get frustrated when I compare my traffic to some of the newer blogs. But, overall I’m happy with my performance. Some bloggers are just better marketers.
So there you have it. That’s why I blog. I’m sure there are other reasons but I could only come up with nine.
Thanks for reading.
