14-Year Old Furniture R.I.P.

By JLP | March 21, 2007

We FINALLY bought some new family room furniture. Our old furniture was closing in on its 15 birthday and had been through 5 moves and years of torture from our kids. And, to top it off, we bought it at Montgomery Ward! Our family room looked like a frat house.

Anyhow,… we finally went shopping last week and found some really nice furniture for a decent price. It was delivered a couple of hours ago. Here’s a picture of the couch:

Broyhill Couch

It’s that microfibre material that looks like leather but feels like cloth. It’s really cool and it looks nice but now we need to paint the room! LOL! Does it EVER end?

It will always be a work in progress. I like the couch, but is it comfortable?

    JLP: Nice looking sofa!

We’re looking to replace a bunch of furniture ourselves which is also about 15 years old. The problem is, it’s still in pretty good shape and don’t want to just have it hauled off, but we don’t want to go to the trouble of trying to sell it either. Any suggestions?

It looks like what we are shopping for. Can you say where you got it?

thc: How about a donation to charity? Depending on your marginal tax rate, it can be worth about 35% of its estimated value – and some charities will pick it up too.
