The maths geek in me just has to say
“No because winning games is not a transitive relation.”

Ah, the transitive property. I’m afraid it fails in sports. I have seen examples of the transitive property at work showing that can make a small Div III school the College Football National Champs.
Sure is a good time for Florida fans.

Oral Roberts beat Kansas, so the Golden Eagles must be the champs.

But did Oral Roberts beat Florida?

Heh, I live only 25 minutes away from the University of Florida, so it is a fun time right now.
And no, we’re the champions, not Kansas.

gotta give the gators credit on some nice wins…
the little guys gotta win every now and then!
(as a buckeye fan with many nat’l championships under our belts… we don’t mind you snagging one here and there… )
