8 Random Things About Me
By JLP | July 4, 2007
I know, I know, you’re probably tired of these kinds of posts but I keep getting tagged. This time CleverDude tagged me so I’ll oblige.
Here’s 8 Random things about me:
1. I just finished putting ALL of my original CDs on my hard drive. It’s over 9,400 tracks, and over 1,100 CDs and 90.9 gigabytes. LOL!
2. I LOVE jazz music. Right now I’m listening to Harry Connick, Jr.
3. I HATED the movie Titanic!
4. I (we, actually) named my oldest son after a character in a Micheal J. Fox movie. My oldest son is also the 4th generation to have the middle name “Leonard.”
5. Whenever I am in a store I will pick up trash or products that have fallen off the shelf. I used to work in a grocery store so that kind of stuff drives me nuts. It also drives me nuts to see employees walk past trash on the parking lot!
6. When I am wealthy, I want to give money away anonymously to people who need help.
7. I like rainy days.
8. My wife and I have been married nearly 14 years!
I hate to be a party-pooper but I’m not going tag anyone.

Which Harry Connick’s CD do you recommend?
July 4th, 2007 at 2:13 pm
I like them all except “Star Turtle” and “She.”

RE: #5, Ditto…also, I have to straighten Hallmark/American Greeting Cards when they are misplaced…and no, I never worked in a greeting card shop!
RE: HC, I wish he would grow on me–I have his Christmas album and Only You, which is ok. I prefer Michael Buble…I just bought The Very Best of Julie London from my CD club. What fantastic music our parents got to enjoy! Happy 4th JLP!

Let me guess…you named him Brantley???
And my favorite Harry Connick Jr CD is Songs I Heard.

90 GB wow. Is that through iTunes? I found that was the easiest way for me to organize my music into mp3s. I’ve got about 600 albums though… A little ways to go before I reach 1100!

Let me guess…you named him Brantley?
I think Harry Connick Jr’s best CD is Songs I Heard.

Hey, sorry to do it to you JLP. I was in a good mood yesterday (cause the boss left early), so I felt like tagging people. Didn’t think you’d do it though!
I’ve been wanting to backup all my CDs to mp3 for a long time, but it’s pretty low on my priority list. If I had an iPod or something, then it might be more practical to spend my time on. Eh, maybe someday.
Happy Fourth!

CleverDude,
Ah, it’s no problem! It was actually kind of fun.
I moved my CDs to the hard drive because we moved our clumpy old stereo out of the family room with the goal of eventually purchasing a family computer that will also serve as the stereo.

I’ve started putting my CD’s onto the computer but I never realized how time consuming it would be.

Muddlehead,
Yes, Harry Connick is jazz. What else would he be?

RE: #10/11–My opinion is that he belongs in (UN)EASY LISTENING!!

Stacey,
Connick is an acquired taste.
There’s something about Bubble (yes, I meant to spell it that way) that gets on my nerves. I like him and all, but there’s just something about him that I can’t quite pin down.

OK… a few months ago I would have argued w/you re: MB. However, I do agree he loses some of his appeal when you actually SEE him perform (tv, not in concert.) With talent, I would do things differently (like not flash hand gestures (not obscene ones, some quirky version of a Hawaiian thing perhaps? Or maybe it’s a Canadian thing I just don’t get…or maybe I’m just too old to be hip…)) Anyway, he’s still above HC on my list…how I miss Frank! Acquiring a taste for HC may take me until menopause…or retirement, whichever comes last!! (But he does seem like a very good soul, which is the most important thing, don’t you agree?)
