My Impression of the Premier Issue of Conde Nast Portfolio
By JLP | July 11, 2007

Okay, here’s my first impression of the new magazine Conde Nast Portfolio:
The premier issue is huge at 328 pages (of which 250+ pages are ads). The editor’s letter doesn’t even show up until page 12. The magazine is so full of ads that it’s actually hard to tell the difference between the content and the ads. I wasn’t impressed.

I got a copy of this at a conference I wnt to in April. I was also not impressed. After being entertained with the slew of adds, I jsut found the content average.

What city is pictured on the magazine cover?

magazines are only good for mass transportation, doctor’s offices, and the bathroom.

jegib,
Regarding the city on the cover:
“Scott Peterman’s Surge, taken rom the 86th-floor observation deck of the Empire State Building, is a modern take on a classic 1932 photograph by Berenice Abbott. To make the image, Peterman left his shutter open for four and a half minutes.”

I thought the cover was very attractive, as were all of the ads. However, I too found it difficult to find content. The umbrella that they sent me was nice!
