Sign Up for a Chance to Win the Last Larry Winget Book and a $50 Amazon.com Gift Card!

By JLP | August 3, 2007

Day 5’s randomly-selected winner of the fifth Larry Winget signed book giveaway was commenter #9, Tricia, who also happens to write Blogging Away Debt. Congrats to Tricia!

Today marks the final day (although I’ll except entries until Monday morning) of the giveaways. We continue by giving away the last remaining signed hardback copy of IT’S CALLED WORK FOR A REASON! (affiliate link), which is Larry’s newest book. Oh, and just to make things a bit more interesting, the winner will also receive a $50 gift card to Amazon.com! (I’m in a giving mood!)

To enter today’s giveaway, simply leave a comment. Again, I only have two rules:

1. You can only enter once per giveaway.

2. You must be a resident of the United States or Canada (I will not ship to anywhere but the U.S. and Canada).

I’ll announce the winner on Monday morning. Good luck!

NOTICE: If you submit a comment it will show up eventually! There’s a bit of a lag sometimes on comments. However, rest assured that I have received your comment and that it is in queue.

You have a great website. I’m not sure how my personal finance “mission” started. I think it was perusing msn.com and reading their sometimes primitive, sometimes insightful personal finance items. From there, I found The Simple Dollar. I have since been on a tear, reading a myriad of sites and slowly building a nice roll call in my RSS feeder.

Thanks for helping to keep me motivated and providing such a wealth of useful information in one place. I still have a bit of your older posts to go, and I look forward to reading more in the future.

    Jason

I’d love to win. Regarding homeowners insurance (a few posts back), we live in a state where you can buy perpetual insurance. For a one time fee (premium) your home is insured perpetually. We did this close to ten years ago and it has worked out well. We paid a little over 4K when our house was worth less than 200K. We have since sent a little more money to increase our coverage as replacement costs have risen (this is optional). We can cancel the insurance and have all the money we have paid in returned at any time. We also had as part of the standard coverage a disappearing deductible - it started at $500 and decreased by $100/year until it is now zero. The name of the company is Baltimore Equitable, they have been around since the 1700s. I think perpetual insurance is only available in certain parts of the country, but I think it has been a good deal for us.

Just retired after 34 yrs with Verizon. Made the decision in just 7 days, still trying to figure out why,my wife is in shock. She would normally want at least 7 months notice just to plan. Just found this blog stuff very interesting stuff, only wish I found it before I retired. I have a question about life insurance. I am trying to cut expenses. Looking for thoughts or information about surrendering cash value on insurance policy and investing the money also cutting out the premium. Looking for pro’s & con’s. I really don’t think I need the coverage any longer.
I will be looking for blogs on relationships once my wife comes out of shock. She could be just acting so I will do all the house work now.
