I recently lost my job and have used up my savings to cover expenses during this period. I am employed again but have taken a dramatic pay cut( base pay reduced by $20,000) and will not see any bonus till early 2009. Without any bonus money coming in I have a shortfall of $42,000.00 over the next 16months. My question is taking from my 401k the only alternative to filling the gap. My wife does not work due to having two small children and I her income would not make much impact after you pay for daycare.

I'd say either the person you're referring to is who I'd guess it is, or that when you get back from the Wheat State you'll be blogging on the financial aspects of getting divorced. ;)
