We Were Hit By a Hurricane!
By JLP | September 13, 2007
It was a small hurricane (category 1), but a hurricane nonetheless.
It was a tropical storm last night when I went to bed but it strengthened to a hurricane before it made landfall. They say 75,000 or more homes are without power (our house is fine so far).
Ah the joys of living 40 miles from the Gulf of Mexico!

Hey neighbor! We were hearing reports of this all day yesterday. Apparently overnight it turns and hit you instead.
Glad you are okay. Did you have any provisions?

Who cares about provisions?! Are our oil refineries okay???? Don’t these hurricanes know what they’re doing to our gas prices?
(Seriously though, glad it wasn’t a big deal)

The good news is that this is bringing much-needed rain to the drough-stricken southeast. Glad to hear everything is okay in your area.

…so all those very high-priced & high-profile weather experts could NOT even forecast a hurricane 8-hours ahead of time ??
Get rid of those the government & TV weather-guys… and buy a window…
