Two Years Ago Today…
By JLP | September 24, 2007
Hurricane Rita hit my hometown. It’s hard to believe it was two years ago! I still have a tree trunk in my back yard that I’m too cheap to have cut out. It’s an eyesore but a great reminder of just how strong a hurricane can be.
Anyway, for those of you who are interested, you can read my evacutation story. For me, evacuating was the worst part of the hurricane.

Has it really been two years! I work with individuals who need help managing their debts when tragedy strikes and I remember Hurricane Rita well.

I have a healthy respect for hurricanes and the turmoil they can cause. It has been a couple of years since THREE hurricanes passed through our sunny state. I don’t miss them one bit!!

My parents had to evacuate for Rita also (they live in a southern suburb of Houston). I was deployed to the Middle East at the time, and after seeing how bad Katrina was, and seeing the expected landing zone for Rita, I was definitely worried. Thankfully the worst thing that happened for most people was the evacuation. I’m glad you and many others made it out safely.
