JLP’s Weekly Roundup (Week of October 29, 2007)

Here’s my roundup for the last week of October. It is hard to believe that November is upon us! Our kitchen is ready for Thanksgiving (we still don’t have our range but I was told that we should have it by Friday). Anyway, here’s this week’s roundup:

FMF with George Kinder’s best advice. – Personally, I think all this “you have to feel good about your money” stuff is crazy.
JD: a credit card is not an emergency fund.
MBH with seven ways to find time to invest in yourself. – I really need to make better use of my time.
NCN lost his wallet. You’ll never guess who found it. – I just have one question for NCN: What the heck are you doing walking around with your Social Security Card in your wallet?
Bluntmoney has been thinking about how to die broke.
With Christmas coming up, Tricia has some an interesting gift idea for kids: PIGGY BANKS!
Speaking of Christmas, here’s how Ramit plans for Christmas in October.
Lastly, Golbguru wonders if substantial economic gifts will spoil kids? – Um, YEAH! I mean not always, but there’s a very good chance that they could. My advice is to give them substantial gifts when they’re older and can actually appreciate money. Just be sure they don’t know they are coming!
That’s it for this week. There’s many other worthy articles to mention but I don’t want to put together a carnival and you probably don’t have time to read it!
