Well at least people are seeing the commercials! None of us are suggesting that you immediately run out and buy a Hyundai or any other car. I know I am not. My point in doing the commercial is that IF you need a car at least buy one that has cash back and zero percent financing. And it is a reminder that a good car doesn't always come with a high price tag. All of the "gurus" agreed on those points. By the way - it was a pleasure hanging with the others. Good guys.

All the best - good blog!

Commercials are entertaining and all, but, if Hyundai (who is making some pretty nice looking vehicles these days) wants my money, they need to start hanging out with Honda and Toyota at the top of the reliability rankings. As I've discussed with friends, I don't care who J.D. Powers says is ranked first in initial quality. I want to know who is ranked first in residual quality after 5 years (when I can put my former car payment to good use !).

I've seen the commercials, but the only 'guru' I had heard of before is Larry Winget. I think his Big Spender show is interesting, though I've only watched a few episodes.

So...first thing I thought when I saw the commercial- is it really wise financially to buy a new car and are you really 'saving' money? I thought the ad might have been a bit hypocritical for Mr. Winget, but I guess you could argue that Hyundai makes a cheap car so if you were going to buy a new car anyway- buy a cheap one.

Am I nuts? What do you guys think?

No One Important,

That's a good point. I actually knew who Adam Smith was but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have recognized him. I have a copy of his book, "Super Money."

Everyone knows who Adam Smith is, he invited capitalism when he published "The Wealth of Nations."

Oh wait...

We "baby boomers" are much more likely to know Adam Smith than Larry Winget or Ray Lucia. And, amazingly enough, we've also got a lot more money than X- and Y-ers. In light of that, the Adam Smith ad isn't really so silly at all...
