Something Really Cool I Found Out About My Contractor

By JLP | September 10, 2008

We are having some minor work done on our house. We are using the same contractor, Fred Parsons, who did our kitchen renovation last fall.

I was talking with the painter, who is a subcontractor for Fred, when the subject of hurricanes came up. He told me that immediately after Hurricane Rita hit our area, Fred had a list of all his previous customers and he went to EVERY one his customer’s houses to check for damaged roofs. If he saw damage, he and his crew would cover it with a tarp. The painter also told me that Fred’s previous customers receive service first if there is damage.

I can’t tell you how comforting that is to hear! Like a good mechanic, a good contractor can really be a blessing.

That’s some great customer service on the part of your contractor. By doing things this way he guarantees that he’ll get a great amount of referral work. Finding a good contractor is a hard thing – sounds like you found a gem!

Good contractors are so hard to find and this guy definitely seems like the “above and beyond” type. It’s always a pleasure sending business to people like him because you know they’ll take care of people.
