I am heading back to Houston tomorrow. My roommate said our power came back on tonight. So, I guess it's not so bad. I talked to some people who live in Winnie -- and it is a heartbreaking story that directions. Glad your house is ok!

I think the 4-week estimate is for the last person out in No Man's Land between Sabine Pass and Pt. Arthur. HOWEVER, we're out of there, too, even though we stayed during the actual storm. (It was bad, by the way.) 1/3 of Lumberton already has power back (though we are in the OTHER 2/3s), so I think that they are getting it up a lot more quickly than originally anticipated.

What about you/your wife's jobs? Will they require you to come back, or do you have the freedom to stay out as long as you need to?

Glad that you and your family is safe. God bless,
Lindsay

Glad to hear that the damage to your home is minor - hopefully getting the power back up won't take that long. Do you keep a generator at home for emergencies such as this?

Good luck, our thoughts go out to you and people impacted by this storm.

I am hopeful that the 3-4 week timeline is worst case. I know when Iowa was flooded earlier this year, people came from other states to help out. Let us pray for the same generosity and 'extra hands' in Houston / Galveston to shorten up that timeline so life can get back to normal.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the status of properties around Youpon St. in Galveston? I have family (who evacuated) with a home in that area.

Thanks! Beth

Glad to hear you're all safe and sound. Hopefully you'll be home sooner rather than later.
