I actually went to the Bill Heard used car lot in Nashville before they got run out of town. The “salesman” actually put his foot up on my car and tired his shoe. Then he cussed me out for asking about a discount if I paid cash for a car. Needless to say I left in a big hurry. Later I talked with some other people who were treated like crap while there. I wrote a letter to Bill Heard’s corporate office, but never received a response. I was glad when they got exposed and had to leave town.

Why should this car dealership worry? All they have to do is call Washington and tell them how many billion of dollars they need to stay afloat.

Interesting. A few years ago when I lived in Nashville Bill Heard was always getting in trouble for changing info on people’s loan applications to make sure that they got approved. It seemed like there was always a news story one of someone with a car payment that was about half of their income. If that kind of thing occurred at all of their locations that just might be what killed them.

Following your link, and reading the comments (and I am well aware of how “trustworthy” internet comments can be) it does seem that the passing of this particular dealership isn’t really much cause for sadness.
