Today Marks My 4th Anniversary as a Blogger!

By JLP | October 13, 2008

I’ve been blogging for FOUR YEARS!

It’s hard to believe but it’s true. I started blogging on October 13, 2004. You can check out my first blog post here. I moved to a Word Press blog in August of 2005 under the URL of AllThingsFinancialBlog.com. I had that name for several months until a Tennessee bank sued me for using their trademarked phrase. Turns out that bank is in financial troubles so they might sell me the rights for dirt cheap! In a way it’s kind of funny in that they were so worried about my blog using their phrase while they were writing crappy mortgages! LOL! You gotta love it!

Anyway, it’s been a mostly fun ride. I have blogged about many topics and pissed off lots of people whenever I strayed off course with a political post displaying my mostly conservative ways. I’ve also given away lots of books and stuff over the years.

I want to thank ALL of my readers. Without you, none of this would be as much fun. I LOVE writing posts and getting reader input—even if they don’t agree with me.

Here’s to FOUR MORE YEARS!

Oh, and before I forget, the winner of the latest giveaway of the Buffett book was commenter 51, Ravanche:

Congratulations to her!

The rest of you, don’t worry. I’m sure there will be plenty more giveaways over the next four years!

I’ve only been reading you for the last two years but it’s so nice to see bloggers who’ve been around as long as you have. Here’s to another 8 years, and exponential increases thereafter!

I have only been reading your blog for for less than a year after reading about it in a national publication. Most of the time I have found entertaining and informative. Thanks

Congraducations. I live your political posts because the government has grown so large that everything they do has a drastic impact of my personal finances.

    JLP,

I have only been reading for about 3 months…not sure where I found out about you at this point, but first visited because of our SE Texas connection.

I now live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, but I graduated from Vidor and Lamar University. I am a true compassionate conservative, more liberal than Bush on social issues and more conservative on fiscal issues. Pretty hard to do….but I can handle it.

If you want to see Philadelphia, we have a large home and are 20 minutes from downtown….one hour from Lancaster, and hour and 1/3 from Hershey (the kids will love Hershey Park), a two hour train ride from Washington, DC and New York….you don’t need to spend money on lodging.

Congrats! After trying to do blogging myself and burning out quickly (now down to about one post every few weeks or so), I’ve learned how hard it is to keep coming up with original, interesting content.

    Keep it up!

Congratulations on this kind of consistency. Most bloggers last about a year and fade away into the atmosphere
