This Woman Is Baking Her Way Out of Foreclosure
By JLP | July 22, 2009
This is awesome:
Avoiding Foreclosure? It’s a Piece of Cake
It’s refreshing to see someone not waiting for someone to come help her out even though she has a legitimate reason to need help (due to her contractor).

Some of those comments are just awful and mean-spirited. I don’t even know where the comment about the government came from. The government is already wise to her which is how she got access to a commercial kitchen.
She is doing exactly what she should be doing, getting herself out of her situation the best way she knows how. When did Americans forget how to do that?
For a $40 homemade cake as a fundraiser, that is not expensive. People don’t have to buy it if they can’t afford it and there are people who are willing to help her and their reward is a cake. There is nothing wrong with that. (As a Georgetown MBA put it, the luxury pricing will make his amazing cheesecakes a high-demand item and sure enough she has 500 orders.)

I applaud her efforts! It’s nice to know there are still people that can “fend for themselves!” Too many people in the world expect a handout or assistance from their governments or service-type organizations. She’s actually putting one foot in front of the other and doing what she can to get herself out of trouble.
