The concept of minimum wage being in balance with inflation is absurd. Lets look at the math. 7.25x160hours=1160$, after uncle same takes his cut, its under 1000. So lets say you pay 500$ a month for a tiny shitbox apartment. Half your month goes to that. Not to mention at least 60 to electric, 100 for a months worth of food (like to see the average american even attempt this.) Leaving you with a WHOPPING 240$ to do laundry to keep your uniform clean (cause they usually only give you one, and half the time you have to pay for that too. You can sorta pay your car insurance, or spend the 4$ a day for a 2 way commute on the bus (80 dollars for 20 day roundtrips to work, go public transportation!) You might have a little left to try to go see a movie or buy clothes, but hey you get payed every 2 weeks so you need to pay rent halfway through the month because your next check doesnt get here till the 6th! OH ITS SUCH A FAIR SYSTEM, the people who want 1 dollar burgers keep this system in place, everytime I see a lexus pulling up to mcdonalds to be a cheap ass, then that same person goes home and thinks, wow those people should get less money, so I only have to pay 85cents a burger instead of 1dollar. Its disgusting, just pay people 10 an hour, be happy with ceo's getting 10.5mill instead of 11.5, its the governments job to regulate this shit, if it was up to wallmart they would pay their workers 1cent an hour, 7.25 is a travesty in 2010.

I've always wondered what insane person decides
the cost of living is going down, and if it is
going down somewhere, which "galaxy far, far away"
that is. Evidently the 'consumer price index' is
a government scam (and this from a person who
does NOT blame the government for everything) :P

The article states that the employers have the option to leave the wage flat. I would like to see how many do that. I would also like to know how many people who don't support a minimum wage, support a salary cap for executive pay? Shouldn't it work both ways?

Sorry actually read the article instead of your blurb.. Your blurb should have included that it gets to go below Fed min wage as that's more interesting

Interesting, I am generally opposed to the minimum wage but if there does have to be a minimum wage in place then having the number tied to inflation makes sense I think.
