If You Have Twenty Minutes, Watch This Video…

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

My friend, Kirk Kinder, over at Swim UpStream to Wealth posted this excellent video interview with economist Steve Keen. Good stuff… I do think Professor Keen was too easy on the politicians, who created the incentive for banks to do what they did. Other than that, I can’t disagree with anything else he says.

Robert Bridges: A Home Is a Lousy Investment

Monday, July 11th, 2011

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

How about an EFT based on Harry Dent’s strategy? It’s been around since 2009 but has had poor returns and a 1.5% management fee (not included trading commissions). I think I’ll pass.

WSJ: How the Current Recovery Measures Up

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

There was an interesting article about the U.S. recovery in today’s WSJ. Included with the article was a section that showed several graphs comparing this recovery with recoveries of the past. Bottom line: this recovery stinks. I’ll sumarize the graphs for you: According to the article, the recovery began in June 2009, when the recession [...]

I want to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July! As much as I gripe about this country, I’m still very thankful to live here.
